What makes a person alcoholic and what kind of consequences in health ways?

Alcoholism - apart from disorder in balance, stomach, liver and cidneys problems, what kind of damage to the nerves and the brain can be and what are the symptoms concerning brain ?

Alcohol throws the balance of brain chemistry out of whack. Alcoholism and mental illnesses feed off each other.

Alcoholics often are people who use alcohol in response to problems: shyness, anxiety, depression, etc. They become dependent on the alcohol to cope with these problems long before they become addicted. It gets to the point where something known as the "rebound effect" takes place, suddenly lack of alcohol CAUSES the anxiety or depression that a person was trying to escape.

People drink more and more often for the desired effect and become addicted.
