Bacteria vaginosis and menstruation...? |
My question is...I get bacterial vaginosis every month right before my period and it's killing me...i went to the doctor...got flagyl...but it came back the next month before my period...the doctor said that it has something to do with my ph balance right before my monthly...I wanna know if there is something I could do to keep my ph balance normal so i can stop getting this annoying thing. I eat yogurt daily, take multi-vitamins and acidophilus pills... One of the reasons acidophilus supplements might not work for you is that the beneficial bacteria may get destroyed by your stomach acids, and don't end up where they need to be. That sounds like a question for your doctor. You might need to use flagyl every month if your body chemistry is funky, or there might be something else you can do. Also, eat lots of yogurt. It had good bacteria in it that help keep your body normal. have you tried using yogurt? Are you on hormonal contraceptives? This could be causing the problem. Go back to your doctor and explain why you're not satisfied with the treatment that you received. If this is your family doctor, then ask to be referred to a GYN. If this is your GYN, then go back to your family doctor and say you want a second opinion. i have a question, is the doctor giving you a pill or are you using the cream/gel you insert into your vagina? I've had it once or twice, and my doctor said he has some patients who have to take flagyl or ketoconazole every month, or several times a year. He says some people are prone to it. |
