Why want my period stop????

In Jan. my period stayed on for 20 days and then stop, skipped Feb. and started again on Mar. 19th and is still on and its the 25th of April. Its just a constant flow with a lot of blood clots, I usually have craamps really bad, but I haven't had any cramps. I am 20 and still a virgin (yes really) I am in college and I went to the campus doctor she did a pevlic exam and it came back as positive for BV (Bacterial Vaginosis)and (no its not a STD and u can't get it from sex I already said I am a virigin)Its just a build up of bacteria that they don't really know why it happens. The Doctor said this is why my period want stop. all the info I found about BV says nothing about your period. The doctors on my campus have been know to be wrong so I really don't trust her. I am going home to my regular doctor, but not till the semester ends and thats in two weeks. I would really like to know whats going on with me. Please help!!!!!!!!

First off to the person below, she said she is a virgin and lets believe her on that. If she said she wasn't a virgin then yes she could be pregnant and miscarrying, but we have NO REASON NOT TO BELIEVE HER!!!
As for the question. Yes Doctors can be wrong! I don't know if you are any form of birth control incase you decide to have sex or for other reasons, but sometimes Birth Control can do that. Its a reaction and I went through that for a whole summer once and it was miserable so I know how you feel. Sometimes certain kids of prescriptions can make you period keep coming back for long periods of times. Finals are a few weeks away and I don't know your insurance sitution but I would go to a clinic down there and talk to them. The worst thing is that if you don't have insurance you will get an office visit charge, but your health is more important then money!!!! Blood clotts are a form of cleaning out the body. That can happenin with miscarriages, etc., but since you say you are a virgin then your body is cleaning something else out and I really think you should go to the clinic. I personally would stay away from tampons until you see another Dr. Good luck to you and Take Care.

you are pregent

go see a real doctor and get him to start you on birth control pills this will regulate your period

Your periods MAY just be messed up due to hormones or stress. In Feb. I had a normal 6 day period, and in March it came right on time, then stopped and came again a week and a half later and I just now got off of it on the 17th, 32 days later! I'm thinking it may be stress, or that BV you were talking about. Mine was stress related, but everybody is diffrent :-)

yes BV is not an std. but if your period is like that then there could be a cause. sometimes its thyroid or some kind of disorder. sometimes there might be a cancer. so go to a "real" doctor and have them give you a full physical because honey what you are going through isnt normal or gives you a good quality of life. I dont think the BV is the cause of your bleeding. Im really concered about you and plz hun get a full check up. I cant tell you what you want to hear right now other than I believe you and something isnt right. and bv doesnt do this. good luck
