Possibly a trip to the Gynecologist?

I might be taking a trip to the gynecologist because i think i have bacterial vaginosis. I've never been before, and coming from a modest person this would be a little tramatic of an experience for me. How should i "prepare" for the the gynecologist? Should i shave down there or just go with it trimmed? What about cleanse-wise, what steps should i take for that?

Also, what would happen if i left bacterial vaginosis left untreated?

Oh MAN!!!! YOU ARE GOING TO DIE! Get your casket and will ready the gyno will probe you to DEATH!!! AAHHH!!!!

Just kidding... Nothing to worry about unless your gyno does not have any professional expierience and you are there 1st patient. Just shower and shave and you will work out fine.
P.S the guy below me has humor issues, and also you gotta worry about a "guy" looking up questions in womens health....

NICE! thanx Report It

im responding because the first person to answer was/is an idiot

Just take a shower. (much like common courtesy of brushing your teeth before going to the dentist. As for what could happen if you don't get treatment......you don't know for sure what you've got going on down there until you get checked out it could be a myriad of things many of which have the same symptoms as vaginosis. YUCK!!!!

If you go to http://www.youngwomenshealth.org/pelvici... they will explain everything that will happen. And most of all, don't be embarrassed or nervous (or at least try not to be) because you have nothing the doctor hasn't seen before! Good luck!
