I create absolutely no lubrication when my hubby and I have intercourse, which leads to pain...?

...what could the problem be? I am only 31, married, no kids and healthy. I also notice a slight odor 'down there', even though I have excellent hygiene...I use Summer's Eve feminine wash daily. Is it possible it could be the soap I use or I could have bacterial vaginosis?

PLEASE do not tell me I have an STD. I have been checked for that and my husband & I are both free of disease.

Thanks for any advice.

We do use a lubricant (have tried many) - helps a little but the problem doesn't go away...

I have wondered about the pre-menopause issue...wondered if it was hormonal or something...I have mentioned to my ob/gyn and she just seemed perplexed and recommended the lube.

When a woman is dry down there its because of understimulation. Does he give oral sex?that should help or does he stimulate u with his fingers..that helps..but nothing will increase lubrication if one of u r in a hurry. Slow down and use lots of foreplay Good luck.

Thank you for all the great answers. I had a lot going on and forgot to come back and choose a best answer...thanks again...I will def. stop using the feminine wash and see what happens. Report It

Yes, the best answer for the smell would be BV. Most likely. As for the lubrication, if you're feeling pain I would probably get some sexual lubricant, it helps a bunch :)

I know your young, but are you showing signs of menopause? This could account for decreased lubrication.
There are many reasons that you could have decreased lubrication, is this new, or has it always been this way? Have you asked your gynecologist yet?

Guess the simple answer is use a lubricant, but I am sure you already know this.

Use over the counter lube. Or get some from your Dr. that you use every day . It will give you nat. mosture.

I have had several doctors say that the summers eve feminine wash is the worst thing you caould use to wash down there! I heard that (this is gonna sound weird) regular shampoo in the best thing to use, as long as you dont go overboard with it (Im not gonna go into details but I am sure you can use your imagination). If you are on the birthcontrol pill then that could also be the reason that you are having dryness down there. Its a common side effect! The odor definately warrants a check up! Its a really quick fix if it is vaginosis! Until then just get yourself some astroglide and have fun!

you may have SD (not std) this is sexual dysfunction its like ed in men. or you may have PCOS or your hormones may just be off balance. look at these link they will help. good luck!!

You GYN needs to do some investigating to find out what the problem is. DO not use soaps or washes in the vaginal area though as the vagina is a self cleansing oriface. You mentioned a slight odor so I would consider getting this checked out at your docs office. Also be sure you do not douche without a doctors order. There are some lubricating things that work for a couple of days on the market. You may want to try some of these. http://www.ky.com/index_us.jsp#

First of all some women are just like that. It's not a defect. Some produce so much lubrication that it's a turn off for the men. Everyone is different. Use lube and stop using the feminine wash. The wash you use get's rid of the good bacteria that keeps you from getting infections. There is such a thing as too clean.

Sometimes it does happen. If all checks are OK, you can continue to use lube and go ahead this way.
