Help with health?

1. Why are sexually transmitted infections sometimes referred to as the "silent epidemic"?

2. Which STI's are caused from bacteria?

3. Which STI's are casued from a virus?

4. What is the major difference between bacterial and viral STI's?

I have gone to many websites but am having a hard time finding answers please help

1-they are rapidly spread and nobody talks much about it.
2-gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia
3-herpes virus, papilloma virus, HIV
4-bacterial infections can be cleared with antibiotics. Virus are not curable. Only recently there is a new vaccine for papilloma, but to prevent the cancer that its presence can provoke. No vaccine or cure for Herpes nor HIV.
.

They are called the Silent Epidemic because a lot of STD's have NO symptoms, so people dont know they have them, and end up spreading them to other people, until they are spread to epidemic proportions. For example, HPV (human papilloma virus) often has no symptoms at all, so you cant tell if your partner has it, even when you look closely. But when a woman gets it, if it is one of the more aggressive kinds, it can ruin her chance of ever having children and even kill her.

I dont know which ones are which, but I know that the difference is that bacterial infections respond to antibiotics, and viruses dont. However, it was all over the news just this week that the second most common STD ( i think it was gonorrhea, but I forget) is now resistant to antiobiotics, so there is no treatment.
