Women Please Answer! Vaginal Problems?

My mom died when I was young so i never really had a woman to share my girl problems with. I'd really appreciate your input. How often do you get abnormal discharge/yeast infections? Nothing to do with STD's either. I go to the doctor and it always seems to be bacterial vaginosis, is this normal with women? Do you have the same problem?
Thanks for your answers!!!

I don't had lot of problems with my discharge and infections. Sometimes, I've some problems with my period couple years ago.

dnt wry dear its normal. its only infection and it is normal.

Hello!
well, usually, before you get your period( thats when you get NORMAL discharge)i dont know what you mean by abnormal, though. I have never had it, but im pretty sure it isnt a big deal. your doctor with give you creams against the inffection. thats about all i can advise( to go to your doctor) other than that i have no idea, sorry.

Good luck, and im sorry about your mom.

Well, I have not had a lot of problems with abnormal discharge or yeast infections. There are some women who get them more than others. Maybe you are using a soap that you are allergic to. Trying using an antibacterial soap, non perfumed toilet paper. And don't forget cotton underwear. It could just be your body. I have you asked the doctor why this keeps happening? Maybe you should. It can't be healthy.

no worries, hun...
i did have sth like tat with uh, a bit of smell , though...
it's pretty alright...

Sorry that you lost your mother at such a young age. Is there a counselor at school that you can "adopt"? You should try and "adopt" an adult woman to help you in these situation.

To answer your question, no, this is not normal and your doctor should have told you that. Remember you are your doctor's boss. He should answer any questions you may have in a complete and understandable manner. If you are getting so many vaginal infections make sure that you are wiping properly when you use the bathroom. Always wipe from the front to the back, so that you don't to accidently push any fecal matter into your vagina. It sounds like your vaginal flora is disrupted somehow. Do you douche? Stop because your vagina has the ability to keep itself clean. Douching too often can wash these cleansing bacteria away. Also, do you take bubble baths? Nix the bubbles. This can also lead to infection. I hope that this helps.

I am sorry to hear about your mom. I seldom get yeast infections, but when I do, I can usually treatment them with over the counter creams such as gynolotrimin or monistat which can be purchased at any drugstore or places like Walmart, Target, etc. It's hard to always know what might be causing the yeast infection. It could be several things: an overgrowth of bacteria, too much dampness in the vaginal area - nylon is your worst enemy here; try wearing cotton underwear (more absorbent), or at least underwear that has a cotton crotch, try to stay away from pantyhose (again, nylon) if possible, or wear ones with a cotton panel in the crotch. If you do alot of swimming, change out of your wet suit as soon as you are through swimming. Lounging around in a wet suit for extended periods of time is not good if you are prone to yeast infections. Try and stay away from tight-fitting clothes such as jeans or pants. Yeast infections are normal for some women - some women are just more prone to them than others, especially those with diabetes. One last thought: I don't know how old you are, but if you are sexually active, you may want to avoid sex when you have a yeast infection so that you do not pass it on to your partner. Best of luck to you. Hope this has helped.

Use cotton underwear, or pads. Don't use the ones that have plastic areas. Maybe that will help
