Bacterial infection.. the doctor confused me. can u help?

ok so i went to the lady doctor yesterday and she told me i have a bacterial infection. and she gave me this free sample of this thing that looks like a tampon and you just put it in push it up and pull it out and it puts cream up there and helps the infection.

ok heres wut i dont understand. she came in gave it to me and described wut i had to do. she said to use it last night and i only neaded to use it that once. but she never told me if i neaded to take anything after that.

do any of you know about this?
do i have to take anything else?
or
is this all i nead to do?

It is a once only application for thrush.
Thrush is usually the result of being on anti-biotics which destroy the good bacteria that prevents thrush normally developing. It can also come from the pill or from too much yeast or sugar in the diet. It is a yeast infection.
Good idea is to eat lots of yogurt containing acidophilous because this builds up the good bacteria.

call the doctor back for an explanation -there is one available 24/7. never leave an office till you understand everything you are told in the future.

Are you certain it was bacterial? Why not call the office and ask. They shouldnt charge you for that call.

yes, you just have to insert it one time and make sure the next day you use a pantiliner. you do not have to do anything else after this, unless you were prescribed a pill.

You were probably diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. THE ONLY one time vaginal cream to treat this is clindesse, and you take it just as described. Take in once at bedtime, one applicatorful per vagina.

I would make sure that you do not have sex for a few days. this is NOT a STD, but can be shared between sexual partners.

This condition is VERY common.

Please go to WEBMD.com for further information on this condition.

Good luck... no need to call your Doctor, this should clear the infection. If you still have symptoms after one week (9vaginal odor or irritation) you may want to go get another WET PREP test done to see that the infection has cleared or to ensure it was not something else that they may not have tested for.

Good luck and no worries, this is common, I see it in my practice ALL the time. 100% curable with your treatment!

Yes, based on what your doctor told you, it's a once only application with no follow-up medication.

If you're concerned or your infection doesn't clear up in a reasonable time, call or visit your doctor again to talk about your concerns.

Remember they are there to help you, and this doctor won't mind you confirming the exact details of your treatment.

Best wishes.
