What injuries can occur from sleeping on a bed with poor back support?

About a year and a half ago, I was staying at an extended stay place for about a month. At first everything was just fine. But as the month progressed, my back pain got worse and worse. I would find it VERY painful to even put my socks on. Eventually the major, sudden jolts of pain went away, but it still hurt whenever I bent over to pick something up.

It even hurts after I sit down from standing up for a while. I don't mean it's sore, I mean it hurts. Maybe I need a spine realignment or something, I don't know.

Some info on me: I am 22yrs old, I weigh about 235lbs, but I lift weights and am strong, so it's not just me being fat. I go to the gym regularly. I've never had a back injury before.

Thanks for reading and help if you can please.

A mild disk problem can cause those symptoms. I have chronic pain from disk problems and when I sleep on a poor bed, it is way worse.

Sleeping on a bad bed can cause injury to your back and neck, but so can things like over exercising, maybe you are inadvertently putting more strain on your back. It sounds like you should really go to a chiropractor or physio-therapist, it is not normal for your back to hurt after sitting down. My father has the same problem but his back is permanently damaged from an accident. Go seek help or you may make it worse even just doing every-day things.

You may have some spinal support muscles stretch, that need tightening. Consult a physio therapist. But his/her plan is highly dependent on how well he listens and understands your description. If after a few months, your back does not feel better, his plan may have been for the wrong area. Rather than argue at that point, you may want to try a different PT, and explain to the 2nd how the first failed to be able to help you.
