How do you care for an unconscious victim of head, neck, or back injuries? |
How do you care for an unconscious victim of head, neck, or back injuries? 1st - don't move them or you could make their injuries much worse (unless puts them in further danger not to do so - fire, drowning, etc.) FIRST LEAVE THEM ALONE NEXT CALL AMBULANCE Dial 911. CALL 911 as everyone else said - call for paramedic assistance, and do not move them (unless they are in immediate danger). if someone has a spinal injury and they require CPR, there is a special technique called a jaw thrust you can use to open their airway - i would recommend you get recognised first aid training if you want to know how to do this! dont try to move them, or touch them..if they are not breathing, DONT DO CPR..you will injure them more..Call 911 immediately. Don't move them unless there's a danger worse than paralysis. call 911. Call 911, check for breathing and pulse. Administer mouth to mouth and CPR if needed. Do not move unless they are in danger where they are (Ie. car is on fire, etc.) |
