Accupressure with permanentt back injury to relieve some pain.? |
My dad, 45 years old, was almost paralyzed after falling 14 feet into a concrete basement while working at a construction site. My dad suffered sever permanent injuries to his back, including some that crushed many disks in between his spine. I have heard many great things about Acupressure therapy and its' healing abilities. Is there any form of acupressure or massage that we could try with my dad to releive his pain? And to top it off my dad has arthritis in his back and the cold weather takes a terrible toll on his back. So anything will be greatly appreciated. Acupressure is based on same meridian system as acupuncture. This isn't something that you should be messing around with without proper education. Contacting the wrong spot may make the condition or somewhere else worse. Stick with massage, it's difficult to seriously hurt someone with massage. Acupressure is best for acute pains only. Hi Monkeyst I don't believe in homeopathic medication. Take your father to a good neurologist and see what's going on in there first, there may be more then meets that eye and, in fact, without this information, you could cause more harm then good. Find out the facts first. |

It sounds like a minimum recovery time of about 6 months but posssibly a year or longer. The back injury would likely take the longest, assuming there was no paralysis and no surgery was needed.
