If a Dr. wrongly states you faked injuries what do you say to other Dr's. you see if they've seen your chart? |
Several years ago I was assaulted. The police took me to the emergency room.A few days later I saw my own doctor and was referred to a psychiatrist who determined I was suffering from depression and something I can't remember the name of that is common for victims of assault. For various reasons I have had to see different therapists, all of whom believed me.One of them finally got a copy of my er visit. I found out that the Dr. put down that in his opinion I faked the injuries. There is no truth to that. The EMT told me he could tell I had been dragged.Ever since I found this out I feel very uncomfortable when I have to see a doctor. I don't know what they've seen or been told.Due to insurance reasons and the fact that Dr's moved away or changed jobs I've seen several over the past few years.I'm a pretty healthy person but I have suffered from a back injury and am now suffering from another common work related injury.Fortunately, these could be proven to be true with tests and x-rays. unfortunately once a Dr has seen past evidence of "faking" it is very hard to convince him of otherwise. if possible go to a totally different hospital or office sorry there isn't much to make them change their mind |
