Back injury and football.? |
About a year ago I did something to my back when I came up short on an 80 foot jump on my dirtbike. I landed without my feet on so all the impact from landing went straight to my spine. I had Xrays, MRIs, and Bone scans but the doctors could not figure out what is wrong. The pain weakened through out the year, but yesterday was the first day of Permissive high school football practice. Being a running back, we are required to run ALOT. I hadn't done much activity in the past year as I was on the recover from my injury. But yesterday after practice my back felt just as bad as the day I injured it. It hurts to walk, lay down, move...anything. I want to play, but if that means everyday for the next 4 or 5 months I'm going to have to go through this horrible pain...it just doesnt seem worth it. What should I do? I suggest you go to a chiropractor. They can tell if it is bone or muscle. To ease the pain use the hot and cold treatment. Put something frozen on the area (but don't apply directly to the skin, wrap a towel around the item first or it will burn) for about 15 mins and then put something hot on the area, like a water bottle again for about 10-15 mins. Keep doing this until it eases a little. The pain won't go away but it will ease it. u should ask the doctor for meds then get a few massagaes |
