What is the best way to remove blood from white shirts, etc? |
Everyone has had the bad experience of getting a nosebleed, or some other injury that leave blood on light colored clothing. It's a problem that results in a lot of clothing being thrown away. Is there a simplier answer? The first thing to do is rinse the soiled area in very very very cold water. This will prevent the stain from setting. Then rub some liquid detergent on there ( I use WISK). Launder as usual from there. That should do the trick. If not and it is a white garment, you can also use the Clorox bleach Pen. hairspray always works for me. spray it with the hairspray and wash by hand or in the washer and repeat until it's out. Hydrogen peroxide will dissolve it away. I got blood on some pants after minor surgery once, and that is what the nurse told me to do. It worked like a charm. If the stain is set in, put some oxyclean on it before you wash it. Oxy-Clean! hydrogen peroxide. |
