Talus fracture?

i'm a fourteen year old gymnast and i just got the results of my x-rays, which say i fractured my talus bone. I was wondering what the treatment is. Will i need to use crutches, or get a cast? I've even heard that in some cases, surgery is nessecary? I tried looking online (i know, unreliable) and all the sites said a cast will be needed.

So, i'll stop rambling now and get on to my real question. Taking my age into consideration (if it makes a difference) how likely am i to get a cast--100%, or do some people not need it? Also, how slim is the chance of surgery?

Thx!

P.S. If i haven't bored you enough by now, would you mind answering one more small question?
About how long does this injury take to heal?

It dosnt matter how old you are you will need your foot immobilised and that means a cast, either a PoP or a boot. It depends on the injury, how bad the fracture is, where the fracture is etc etc whether you will need surgery - I'm afraid you will just need to wait and find out about that from your doctor. You will most likely be given crutches for a while yes as I'm sure you realise its hard to get about with a cast on and immobilisation means no weightbearing aswell as no movement. Hope this helps.

Talus bone is in the ankle. It depends on the type of fracture length of time to heal.
