Injured tailbone?

Total wipeout snowboarding on Wednesday - at the top of the mountain, of course - hurt bad! Rode down using only my toe edge, and stopped for the day. I feel fine if I take some Motrin and lay around. From what I have read, it is a typical coccyx injury. I don't want to bellyache about it - I want to know if anyone that has been through this found ways to exercise (without excruciating pain) or otherwise stay fit? I kinda wonder if swimming will work...I can't stand the idea of doing nothing and my typical workouts are impossible right now

I broke my tailbone last year. Very painful, and it was such a long lasting injury.
I went to the doctor, and after several X-Rays, they realized the tip of the coccyx was broken. They said they couldn't really do much about it. They did, however, give me a "donut pillow". As retarded as it may sound, this gave me so much relief. I could barely sit down on regular cushioned couches or chairs, but with the pillow, I could sit anywhere. I would really recommend getting a donut pillow.

Also, toe touches seemed to help alot. Physical exercise was painful, especially jumping and running. I would just advise you to continue to take motrin, and make sure to stretch alot.

There isn't really much you can do it back. Swimming is your best bet but, don't be surprised if you have pain shooting from your back down your legs from kicking.

While this is not an exercise it will speed up the healing process http://www.helium.com/tm/148271
Since you all ready have a pain signal why not use it.
