Do does a baby that is tounge tide take care of it?

what doctors do to take care of tounge tide babies?

Babies with this condition, called ankyloglossia, are often given a frenotomy (also know as frenulectomy) , a procedure in which the excess frenulum is clipped, allowing for freer motion of the tongue; however, the surgery can be performed at any age.

yea they clip their tissue under their tongue so that it can come out farther, but it is only necessary for breastfeeding unless it's really bad. My daughter could have hers clipped if I wanted her too but since it's not really that bad and I couldn't breastfeed anyway I just formula fed her and she's doing great, above average in fact!

Many will say "get his tongue clipped" - and it is true that if it is severe, a surgical procedure is available to take care of this problem, also called ankyloglossia.

HOWEVER - before you rush to surgery, give it some time. If the baby is feeding well, then the tight frenulum may stretch over time and surgery may not be necessary. We are referring fewer and fewer babies to have their "tongues clipped" because we know now that may times it will stretch and become more funtional on its own without surgery. At least, that is standard practice in the U.S.

As long as the tip of the tongue can touch the lips, then speech should not be affected, and if the baby is feeding well, don't rush to surgery!
