What you may not know is tha a cats mouth contains the deadly staff virus and statistics show that 80 percent of cat bites result in serious infection.

I was actually bitten this summer by a cat and know first hand he complications that can arise. You need a tetanus as well as antibiotics. Heres a link that can help you out a bit and provide some good info. The cat bite pictured is acually my own. Hope you feel better soon.

What You Need to Know If You're Bitten

if the wound is not severe then you should just boil it out with peroxide and keep putting neosporin on it. if you can see some of your flesh then you need to go to the hospital to get stitches.

if you get an infection it will look even worse....cat scratch and cat bites can cause rather nasty infections...no need for ER or hospital...your doctor can prescribe medicine to take.

wash the wound with warm soapy water and get your tetanus shot updated. get the cat to the local shelter.

Peroxide and antibiotic ointment on the wounds. Bandage lightly. Check daily for redness or swelling. If much develops, go to the doc.

Good luck.

yes but you must make sure the wound is clean. It happened to me and i didn't clean it properly this was when i was a teen, it got infected and I got very sick. All because I didn't clean it right. And as for the cats they will work it out there will always be one who will dominate. But take very good care of your finger and keep it clean. try to clean it with peroxide and apply an triple anti bacterial ointment and bandage it (not to tight as not to swell) for a few days, than unrap it to allow air (but keep it clean) and this should do the trick. If this doesn't work go to Doc. Hope this help.

bandage it but watch it closely

Introducing your cats to each other all depends on their temperament and their personality. When you introduce a new cat to your current cat, you should always make sure that you give your current cat plenty of love and attention. This way, your cat will feel secure and know that he isn鈥檛 in competition with your new cat for affection.

When you bring your new cat home, you should let him stay in a safe room until you have finished introducing the cats. Your safe room can be any small room in your home, such as a bathroom or spare bedroom. The key here is to use a room that your current cat doesn鈥檛 go in. In the room, you should leave your new cat a scratching post, bed, water dish, litter box, and food dish.

At first, your current cat may howl and hiss when he stands at the door, trying to tell the other cat that he doesn鈥檛 belong. When this happens you should ignore it, as punishing your cat for his behavior will only lead to more problems. After a while, the first cat will start to act calm when he is near the new cat鈥檚 door. As he starts to act calm, you should pet him and give him praise.

When your first cat starts to go by your new cat鈥檚 door and doesn鈥檛 howl or hiss; you can start introducing them to each other. The best way to do this is to get them used to each others scent. You can start letting them eat out of the same food dish, although you鈥檒l want to feed them at different intervals at first. This way, the scent of each cat will be present at the food dish, and each cat will get the scent when he eats his food.
