I was bitten by a cat should i go to the hospitol or can i take care of the wounds on my own? |
well i rescued a cat. got all his tests and shots. kept him apart from my other babies till all that was taken care of. and 2day is the day i was gonna bring him up here to meet the other 2. oh boy! spook the new baby attacked my girl zoey. then pooka the alpha male attacked him for attacking her. dumb-*** me tries to break it up. i grab spook and was holding him and he turned around and bit the **** outta me. i have 4 large puncture wounds, blood was pouring outta me it scared the **** out of me. what a freakin day. does anyone have any ideas on how to intergrate them. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. OUCH! IT HURTS What you may not know is tha a cats mouth contains the deadly staff virus and statistics show that 80 percent of cat bites result in serious infection. if the wound is not severe then you should just boil it out with peroxide and keep putting neosporin on it. if you can see some of your flesh then you need to go to the hospital to get stitches. if you get an infection it will look even worse....cat scratch and cat bites can cause rather nasty infections...no need for ER or hospital...your doctor can prescribe medicine to take. wash the wound with warm soapy water and get your tetanus shot updated. get the cat to the local shelter. Peroxide and antibiotic ointment on the wounds. Bandage lightly. Check daily for redness or swelling. If much develops, go to the doc. yes but you must make sure the wound is clean. It happened to me and i didn't clean it properly this was when i was a teen, it got infected and I got very sick. All because I didn't clean it right. And as for the cats they will work it out there will always be one who will dominate. But take very good care of your finger and keep it clean. try to clean it with peroxide and apply an triple anti bacterial ointment and bandage it (not to tight as not to swell) for a few days, than unrap it to allow air (but keep it clean) and this should do the trick. If this doesn't work go to Doc. Hope this help. bandage it but watch it closely Introducing your cats to each other all depends on their temperament and their personality. When you introduce a new cat to your current cat, you should always make sure that you give your current cat plenty of love and attention. This way, your cat will feel secure and know that he isn鈥檛 in competition with your new cat for affection. |
