What are the risks of HPV on a baby while you're pregnant? |
I found out 2 years ago I had HPV and had the surgeory and thought everything was cleared up. Then about 2 months before I found out I'm pregnant, I got another abnormal pap. I haven't had another colposcopy yet or any other procedures because my OB wants to take care of this now that I'm seeing her for being pregnant. I'm currently 10 weeks and I want to know if and how this will affect my baby. Does anyone have first hand experience with this situation?? I'm worried. I have HPV and my son was born just fine. There IS a chance it could be passed from you to your baby during a vaginal birth but it is VERY unlikely. Don't be worried. As long as your doctor is aware that you have HPV during your pregnancy, everything will be okay. My doctor wouldn't do a colposcopy on me until after my son was born because he didn't want to cause me to have a miscarriage. Hope this helps! you may try to check some useful hpv blogs on http://herpesmates.com some pregnants get the healthy baby even they contracted with hpv Please see Google search for more details on HPV & Pregnancy. High risk hpv is not transmitted from mother to baby. |
