For doctors and helth care professionals only please? |
i know most doctors have better things to do than yahoo answers but i need an answer my husband didn't think to ask when he was their, if someone has genital herpies, how likly are they to give it to their spouse? and also how likly is it that they can have a healthy baby? we havnt had any kids yet but would someday like too, and i can't find any information on the net about being pregnant with herpies, or would we have to go with invetro just to make sure i didn't get infected? please help!!! first of all for sure if ur husband have herpes he can give this virus to u and many women have cervical herpes then even they cant know they have it or not cuz they cant see the herpetic lesion ,for having a healthy baby just fr delivery time we have problem with women with active herpetic lesion,be sure its ok to make love for have a baby and be sure even if u have active herpetic it wont pass to ur baby BUT (pay attention)for delivery time if u have an activ herpetic lesion(and of course ur doctor will know it)u cant deliver ur baby in natural way(NVD) and have to had a c/s ,cuz if the baby comes from ur vaginal it will get the herpetic virus thats all and ur gynocologist can tell u that u have active herpes or not and again i am going to tell u that it has not any dangour for baby if u get pregnant (but why u didnt go for a check up its better for a gynocology check up every one yr :) ) I can only answer the first part. If he has it, he will pass it on to anyone he has sexual contact with. 99.99% Good luck with getting real professionals to answer you. If you have a serious question like this, go see a real doctor. Make an appointment with a gynecologist. Obviously talking with your OB/Gyn and his doctor will be the ultimate decision factor. Everyone knows that STDs are spreadable, even to an unborn baby if you are in an outbreak when birth occurs. So please be careful for your future child's sake. Genital herpes isn't something to play around with - especially with pregnancy. Ask your personal physician because people online can pretend to be medical professionals and you could be getting all sorts of bad advice from some bored teenager. Please ask your doctor. It's very like they gave it to you. But ask your obg to run tests and see if you have it in your system. also request a c-section so that if you do have gh your child doesn't come in contact with it. Also don't have sex while you're pregnant fro precautionary measures. U can have a perfectly health baby if one or both of yous have herpies. U will just have to have a c-section if u r having an outbreak at the time of delivery. And as for the first part of your question that if u have already been having unprotected sex with your hubby then u probably already have herpies. Alot of poeple don't even know they have it cause they r just the carries of it and they don't have outbreaks. If u have any other questions write me. Genital herpes is only infectious during an outbreak - ie, when your husband has the sores present. Still, it's always a risk and condoms should be used. Same idea as a cold sore - you can only get a cold sore from somebody that has one at the time - BUT, the person always has the virus in their body. Same with genital herpes. herpies can be caught by setting on a toliet seat from a person who is a carrier. as well as unprotected sex as well your chance of having a child not with him or her getting this is highley unlikley in many cases children dont catch it where some do from the mother and yes you can get it throught sex with your husband as well dont wear others undergarments that might have this as well or dont let others wear yours if you have this yu can pass it on by that meathod ? I am a friendly public health care worker, and work in an STD clinic. :) I think I qualify to answer this question. |
