Walking as a diet/excercise plan?? |
I started brisk walking 3-4 miles in the evening, this is my first time on a diet (I'm 22y/o 5'4 & 155lbs) and I have tried to cut back on carbs and really want to tone up. I guess i dont care if I dont lose that much weight if I was more tone and not so flabby. Walking is an excellent way to lose weight. Walking is excellent exercise. Generally for someone your age, just walking is not going to cut it. Scientists have recently proved the theory that walking burns fat more than running is actually wrong when considering young people. Sure, when you are older, walking is fine. But at a younger age, your body needs higher intensity training to actually burn considerable fat. You are not wasting your time, but if you want real results, you need a more aggressive workout to really "get your body back." Good luck to you!
