Need some legal advice?

ive just been dignosed with copd plus cronic broncottis im taking breathing treatmentshat help temporally what im concerned about is my daughter and her babies when i die the rest of the kids will sell my house they dont even care about what will happen to my daughter and her two little ones what can i do to assure this wont happen

firstly not being smart but chronic bronchitis is one of the conditions in COPD category. can't you write a will and state that you want your daughter to live in the house with her children until she wants to move on and then the selling of the house can be shared between the family. if it's your house you can do this or else if it's not maybe you could talk it over with your family and ask how they feel about this and that it is your wishes that it is done this way and would they please respect it. you could talk it over with family first then do will so no grudges will be held between the rest of the family and your daughter.

Couldn't you leave the house to your daughter in your will? You can make a will yourself, but if you think it will be challenged, it would probably be best to do it with a lawyer.

Hopefully you are not going to die anytime soon, though. People can live for a long time with COPD.

You can write up a simple will that leaves the house (and anything else you care to leave her) in your daughters posession. They actually make will makers for the computer. Then you'll have to have it noterized. By the way, I'm very sorry about the COPD and chronic bronchitis. My grandmother had both and it was rough.

Appoint a Power of Attorney who will guarantee that your wishes will be carried out within the provisions of your Last Will and Testament. Make sure that it is a friend or family member that you most trust and that you will have confidence in. There are forms appointing POA's with the courts to be filed, make sure they are notarized with signatures of agreement. Also update your will, that's very, very important. As for your home, do a due diligence and give your share over to the POA so he or she can handle your affairs. Through you will you can dictate you will get what, if any thing.

You need to leave the rest of the kids something, like $10 ea.

Otherwise they can contest the will.


COPD I have 30% lung capacity, and have oxygen, I still do some traveling. I haven't given up yet
