Does that make sense? PLEASE be honest?

Ok. So, I missed 2 periods so far, and my doctor thinks I should gain weight while I'm OVERWEIGHT 15 LBS. I have been dieting for more than a year to lose 30 LBS and I'm still half way. My

diet is a balanced one and healthy. So what do you think I

should do? I don't wanna gain fat as my doctor suggest to get

my period back? Anyone has experience please answer me.

I'm not pregnant and by healthy diet I mean I eat 1,200-1500 calorie a day allotted on protein, carbs, fat like milk, cheese, eggs, poultry, salmon, broccoli, cereal etc. And I'm 5.4 tall, 126LBS trying to be 110LBS
Additional Details

For those who think I do not need to lose weight you should see how awful my belly looks with 32% body fat.

By the way I'm 27 married no kids but I love to get a baby next year that's why I'm worried about my period. Otherwise screw it who cares.

I think you should try another doctor. I've never heard of a doctor telling you to gain weight , when you're not skinny or anorexic. I think you might just need a little estrogen. Is this doctor a gynecologist? You really should get a good check up by a gynecologist. I mean a pap smear. If you've never had one, they're no big deal. And if you want to get pregnant, you'll need a good ob/gyn. Get another opinion. btw, according to Prevention Magazine, you should weigh beteween 114-138. I forgot, a gyno might put you on the pill to get your period back. If you want a baby next year, this is definitely the time to see a good ob/gyn. If you have insurance, you're allowed one without a referral. Good luck to you!! :)

consult ur diet with a dietician thingy

It doesn't really make sense to me the way you describe it. Amenorrhea usually occurs in athletes or people with severely restrictive diets. They do not consume or have enough stored fat to produce sufficient sex hormones. Maybe you should seek a second opinion from a gynecologist to determine if there are other reasons you are not menstruating regularly.

Sorry to contradict you, but at your height you would have to gain over twenty pounds before you were considered overweight.

If you were to drop to 110 you would just barely be considered a healthy weight. At your height, anything below 108 is considered underweight.

What your belly looks like has nothing to do with your health, it is a cosmetic matter. You should listen to your doctor, he probably knows what he is talking about. He isn't trying to make you look fat, he is trying to keep you healthy, and is worried solely about your health.

get a new doctor

I'm 5-4 and 35 years old. I was told by my dietician that I should aim for 125 pounds, because as you age you have more trouble maintaining a lower weight, due to your decreased need for calories.

I'm alarmed that your fat is 32% at your weight; do you work out? I really think that your fat index combined with your stomach indicate that you're simply dieting and not working out. No amount of dieting will get rid of that stomach, at your weight, without exercising; in fact you've probably maxxed out the benefits of dieting without exercising. I wouldn't go below 1500 calories per day.

There can be many reasons to skip periods, so I'd make an appointment with a Gyn and discuss it with them. If it's due to your dieting, you're going to have to decide what's more important; having a child or being skinny. Having a baby is going to pack on some weight too, so decide right now what's more important.
