Late end stage alzheimers?

my grandma has had alzheimers for a long time and i think she is at the very end stages.. she's not eating at all....or drinking really...cant get down her medicine.. .its soo sad my mom always cares for her goes to see her etc... all her sibling (my mom's) live out of state...my mom always comes home crying from the nursing himmy grandmother is in.. it is really taking a toll on her .. she said she feels as if she should be there all the time...since basically no one else can.. i work fulltime and have 7 month old baby.. try to get there on days off... i need advice.. comforting words to tell my mom.. does anyone have a good idea on how to make last days not soo bad..(thats the other thing... she could live on for months) please help =(

Prayers for you and your Mom. Everyone must live their life so that they do not have regrets. Support your Mom as much as you can. I am certain your Mom knows that your baby comes first. You may be doing the very best that you can. It is never easy to lose a parent for whatever reason. Your Mom could just rely on the nursing home but she choses to make life better for her Mother. She sounds like a pretty good Mom for you to have and a good Grandmother for your baby.

It sure does sound like she is in the last stage. That's the way my day was right towards the end. One thing my dad really liked up to the end was listening to his kind of music and seeing our dog. Dogs really sooth people. You all ready are being the most kind to her by your visits, so keep that up and tell your mom that you love her a lot.
