Can two brown eyed people have a blue eyed baby?

Can two brown eyed people have a blue eyed baby? I heard somewhere that this was impossible and you would have to have a blue eye parent and a brown eyed parent or a two blued eyed parents to have a child with blue eyes...get it? True or not?

Yes, it is possible. You both have to have a recessive blue-eyed gene. If two brown-eyed people have the recessive blue-eyed trait, they can have a blue-eyed child. If one parent is blue-eyed and one parent is brown-eyed but doesn't have the recessive blue-eyed gene, child will have brown eyes. If one parent is blue-eyed and one is brown-eyed but DOES have the recessive gene, the child could possibly have blue eyes.

My husband and I both have brown eyes & our daughter has the most beautiful blue eyes ever. (And yes, he was the father!)

Probably not the most technical explanation ever, but it gives you the idea....:)

i think you can if you have family that has blue eyes... (if italian and family is blue eyed then yes u can have one) it's all in family genetics.. notj ust u and ur spouses

Yes, a brown eyed person can carry the blue eye gene.

Eye color is not quite that simple, and yes it's possible for two brown-eyed parents to have a blue-eyed baby. Brown eyes are dominant, and blue are recessive, so if the brown-eyed parents are also blue-eye carriers, the baby can have blue eyes if it gets the right genes.

yep. I'm living proof.

yes you can have a baby with different eye colours than the parents. Most babies thought do have blue eyes at birth and then they change. But genes are heritary and it could come from a grandparent.

We were taught the wrong stuff in biology as students a long time ago. Yes, two brown eyed people can have a blue eyed baby. You have recessive genes for the blue eyes.

I have brown eyes, my husband has blue eyes, we have 2 daughters with green eyes and a son with blue eyes. I thought brown was dominant. My dogs both have brown eyes. I think they may be my real biological children! Ha ha!

Yes, its possible, it doesn't happen all the time but it can. It depends on what eye color genes the parents carry. If both parents genes are not dominant in brown, then it is possible for them to have a light eyed child.

A PERSON WITH BROWN EYES CAN HAVE A CHILD WITH ANY COLOR EYES EVEN LILAC
GREEN EYED PEOPLE CAN ONLY HAVE GREEN AND BLUE
BLUE EYED PEOPLE CAN HAVE ONLY BLUE
UNLESS THERE IS AN CONGENITAL DEFICIENCY OF PIGMENT....THE SKIN IS USUALLY VERY WHITE REGARDLESS OF RACE AND THE EYES CAN HAVE RED PUPILS AND PINK OR BLUE IRIS (ALBINO)

yes.. all eye colors are determined genetically throughout each person's family history
