Is it possible for a brown eyed woman and a hazel eyed man to have a BLUE EYED BABY? |
Is it possible for a brown eyed woman and a hazel eyed man to have a BLUE EYED BABY? It's possible with recessive genes. Of course, many babies with the recessive gene are blue eyed for a while and the color changes. This answer is misleading. YES most babies are born w/ blue eyes. In SOME babies, it changes to brown. But if a child has 2 recessive genes for light eyes (blue, green or gray), they can ONLY have light eyes! Simple genetics! Report It Yes if both of them have one parent who is blue eyed. Or if each of them carries the blue-eye gene. Certainly, both the parents would likely have had blue eyed ancestors in their family tree. Eye color is not necessarily determined by parental eye color. maybe, but i highly doubt it. But, if either of your parents had blue eyes, or even if your grandparents did, there is a chance that you could still have some blue eyed genes in you. So yes it is possible, but there is a very low chance of it actually happening. I would think so....I have brown eyes, my husbands is blue and both our children have hazel eyes. So as long as one of you carry the gene....as you can see...they can be of different color than yours and your husbands!!! Certainly. :) If each of the parents carries a recessive gene for blue eyes, then they have a 1 in 4 chance of having a blue-eyed baby. I'm living proof of that -- both of my parents have brown eyes (dominant gene), but I have green eyes (recessive gene -- any "light eye" color is considered recessive to dark eyes). Yes my Parents both have really brown eyes and brown hair but yet my sisters 3 of them have bright blue eyes and blonde hair. Anything can happen. YES IT ALL DEPENDS ON YOUR GENES. IF ONE OR BOTH OF YOU HAVE AT LEAST ONE BLUE EYED RELATIVE IN YOUR FAMILY, IT'S DEFINATELY A POSSIBLITY. Yes. The baby would have one gene from mom and one from dad for blue eyes. A blue-eyed person has to have both genes blue. A brown-eyed person can have two brown genes or one blue and one brown. Almost all babies are born with blue eyes, it can take up to a year for their eyes to change color. Also blue eyes are a recessive gene so both parents would have to have the gene (but not neccesarily blue eyes) to pass the gene on and then they only have about a 25% chance of having a baby with perminantly blue eyes. |
