My baby's bottom lip keeps turning blue?

About 2 weeks ago, I noticed my 6 month old had a bluish tint on her lower lip. It seemed to come and go, but finally disappeared. It just started reappearing today. It's not a very obvious, dark bruise, but a bluish tint that has blood vessels showing if you look real close. The first time I figured she must have hit herself in the mouth with a toy (I was with her the full 24 hours beforehand, so I know there is no abuse going on). It seems a little too coincidental that it's showing up in the same spot.

My questions: is this a possible medical condition? We have a wellness check on Sep 12- can it wait until then? I doubt this is related, but she also has a lump under her left breast that I was going to have the doctor check out.

Thanks for any input!

She sucks on a pacifier, but not all the time.

She is a very happy baby and the lip has not seemed to bother her at all.

Hi, there. Please know that I am praying for you and your daughter. You should not wait 'til September 12 for your baby's wellness check. A bluish tint to a lip or both lips can indicate that your baby is possibly not getting enough oxygen in her system and may have a circulatory problem. It could be something very minor, but your baby should be seen immediately. The breast lump should also be seen right away. I don't want to concern your or scare you, but your baby needs to be seen immediately. Chances are it's nothing, but you need to get her to a doc quickly. Pls let me know how she's doing. God bless!

babies with lumps does not mean cancer. blue lip could be due to insufficient supply of oxygen to lungs, or heart not string enough to pump the blood, or anemia. anyways not to worry.

Blue is not a normal color on a baby's body for anything except the eyes. Go to the doctor as soon as possible, preferrably while the lip is blue. This means today, now. Good luck.

just wait until you see the doctor so that you will know for a fact whats the exact problem...
