What would happen to me? |
I am about to start taking birth control pills. What would happen if I just took the white pills and not take the blue or green(placebo) pills? Depends on the type of birth control they have you on. Some of the placebos have iron in them as a supplement. Otherwise, the placebo pills are just that: a placebo, which is a big word for sugar pill. The reason they are there is to help you stay on a schedule so you don't forget to start the next pack when you need to. If you are talking about skipping the pink or blue pills and taking nothing for those 7 days, you will still get your period. If you are talking about continuing to take the birth control pills without stopping or taking the placebos, you will not get your period (maybe spotting the first time). There is really no harm and actually there is a pill on the market now strictly for that. It is suggested to take a break every 3-6 months, but my Dr. has let me go a year and no harm done whatsoever. Taking birth control pills whether you skip the placebo or not make you gain some weight. It depends on you. I did not gain more by continuing with the hormones than I did when I skipped those 7 days and got a period. its not the green or blue pills that make you gain weight. there placebo. there only there so you stay in a routine of taking them every day. no you don't have to take them. You'll be just fine. I never take my placebos. |
