Period and conception issue?

I started my period 7 days late this month and it lasted about 5 days. I was a little upset because we are trying to have a baby, but things happen. So today which is day 16 of my cycle and the begining of my fertile period and I tested high on my clear blue easy fertility monitor I started spotting really lightly. So what is going on? Should I reset my monitor for day one like you do on the first day of your period or is this really even a period. Before last month I have always been pretty regular. I though I was late due to stress of trying to get pregnant. Any help would be great.

If your fertility monitor says you're ovulating, I would interpret your spotting as ovulatory bleeding. Not many women get it, but it does happen.
