What ever happened to BSE? |
You know all that fuss around British Beef and BSE? How comes it's all died down? It's still there.OK the culls have contained the spread of the disease but it is still latent and will rear it's head again one day. As regards humans who may have consumed infected beef,it can take 20 to 25 years to take effect and become noticeable in the person infected. The Health authorities fear there might be a torrent of cases in the next ten years or so.It cannot be detected in humans until they have died. BSE is still happenning. It only hits the news headlines when the press find out about it or it occurs in the human form of CJD. You've tempted fate now. BSE still exists - just the media hype surrounding it doesnt at the mo! |
