Lump under under arm/armpit area?

About a month ago I found a quarter sized pink spot under my armpit that was tender & itchy. I blew it off as some kind of irritation & it calmed down. I am now left with a lump under the skin about the size of a pea - It is a oval & a little rubbery. It's located under my arm - when my arm is down & in the crease/corner of my armpit when my arm is up. I am able to tell that it is attached to the skin layer cuz I can move it around when I move the skin around, so it is not attached to tissue underneath. It's still reddish/pink with a darker spot in the center - but doesn't actually have a head like a pimple. 'Cuz it moves in the skin layer & is so high up in the armpit - does this sound like a swollen lymph node? It wasn't noticable a few weeks earlier during my BSE and my annual physical, a month before that. If it were BC, &I had a lump this noticable & quickly, just looking in the mirror,.. wouldn't I have other symptoms by now? What are the odds of gettin BC there first?

I am not trying to scare you but this isn't an area that you want to wait and see what happens. It needs to be checked out by the doctor just to be safe. I would make an appointment a.s.a.p. and have it looked at. I am NOT a doctor nor did I ever play one but I would go see about it. I am not trying to scare you although it does sound like it.

I found the following from a post at MedHelp and I am also putting the website for you. Every site I checked said the same thing, have it checked by a doctor.

"Q: my niece fund a lump in her arm pit about two weeks ago. She had the lump taken out the other day. They won't know if its cancerous for about two weeks. She's only 16. what else could it be besides cancer?
A: I know it is frightening and nerve racking to await the results of testing, our imaginations take us from the worst case scenarios to everything is OK. There are many causes of lumps, and having it removed and examined is the only way to know for certain what it is so it can then be dealt with."

A lump under my arm
Question: I have been troubled by a small lump in my left armpit over the past two months. It is quite small but occasionally causes me some pain. Is it something serious or could it just be a broken sore?

Answer: Your lump is most likely to be a small sebaceous cyst. These are usually situated just under the skin, and can easily become infected via a hair follicle.

Hmmm... It sounds what like my mom had. Just go to the doctor. She got it like burned off(don't be scared by that), or cut off(don't get scared either lol), something like that.

The doctor would know!

that sounds like a large blackhead or sebacious cyst festering under your skin...

It could be a benign cyst that can be cut out by your doctor, but you MUST go get medical attention as soon as possible, they will need to do a biopsy on it to determine what it is.

Don't put it off - see a doctor.

It sounds like a swollen axillary lymph node. This could be a sign of breast cancer, but it could be lots of other things too. The best thing to do would be to see your doctor. He or she may want to do a biopsy to check it out.

well my friend had sumthing like that er Dr told her no caffine for a few days....

I get those from shaving.

Deodorant builds up in the "cells" and causes the cysts. They go away with time, or if the start to get annoying, just squeeze them until the deodorant comes out.

Ask your doctor first, she can confirm it.
