Breast lump?!?

A few weeks ago I noticed a small lump in the upper part of my breast, near my armpit. I was pmsing at the time and decided to ignore it (my breasts always swell up and get sore during that time). Over the weekend I was doing my bse in the shower and noticed it again, which made me freak a little bit. On my mom's side of the family, my aunt has had a benign breast lump, and my mom has cysts in both her breasts. On my dad's side of the family, my aunt recently had a bout with breast cancer. I am super busy getting ready for my sophomore year in college and I am kind of pressed for time in packing, buying books, organizing, which is also stressing me out. Should I take the time to get checked out or can I wait until after the moving chaos??

Better go get a boob squish (AKA mamogram, lol). I mean, don't freak. That's not good for your health either. I have lots of cysts, which makes it difficult to tell whether I have an alarming lump. My doctor said that I should come in if:
lump is only on one side
does not go away and come back
is hard and steadily increasing in size
has no relationship with my period or ovulation

There was a couple other things, too... It's up to you to prioritize. The earlier you catch it, the easier it is to treat. I know all about being super busy with college. Things will settle down in a month or so. Make the appointment NOW. They probably won't be able to get you in for a month anyways. OR, even better, you could trot on over to the health clinic at your school (which you paid for with your health fees) and have a doc poke at your breast... It't the fastest way to get some peace of mind.

Yes you should take the time to check out it could be serious and the longer you wait it might become even worse. You should go to doctor ASAP

*hopes this helps*

I found a lump about a year ago - it freaked me out so I got it checked - luckily I was fine - my lump was kinda squishy and the nurse who checked me out said that most cancerous lumps are very hard. if yours is hard I would go get it checked out - early detection is the key. your life can be put on hold a day or two while you do something important for yourself.

get it checked out asap.

get checked.

GO CHECK IT OUT NOW! nothing is more important if the lump really is cancerous. believe me!

ok U GO TO DOCTOR.......I THINK U HAVE CANCER... go now!!!!!!!!!!

You need to see a docor. Your health is always more important.
