Hi, has anyone suffered from Avascular Necrosis, but mis-diagnosed with another condition?

Hi everyone, Im 33 and I have suffered from groin pain since Sept 05.

Xrays were done March 06, where I was told they were clear.
Therefore was diagnosed with tendernitis and treated for this since May 06-Dec 07 taking pain killers and having steriod injections in the groin area.

Over the years the pain got worse, eventually last year I had a MRI scan done.
Dec 07 and was told by another consulant that I am suffering for Avascular Necrosis of the hip and not tendernitis due to taking steriods over the years for asthma and have had core decompression done.

**Apparently this was evident in the March 06 xrays I had done originally, but it was missed by the consultant**

Has this happened to anyone as I was thinking of claiming for the severe pain I have suffered over the years as I beleive this is medical negligence.

If so, how did you go about it and what was the outcome of the situation.

Thanks for taking time to read this and I await to hear from you.

I was diagnosed in 2005 with avasuclar necrosis and not one doctor told me in 2 and a half years. I am having a core decompression surgery done in Feb. but little hope my whole hip bone is almost completely dead and yes, I am filing a claim! This has been years of pain. I thought I was going crazy because the doctors were still telling me I was med seeking. NOT ANYMORE!
