I have avascular necrosis, Perthes disease, can I get SSDI without an attorney?

Go to your local Social Security office and fill out the paperwork. They will ask for additional info which you can either mail or bring back in. They will then send you to their doctor for an exam and if he/she finds that you have dead spots in your vascular system and Perthes, you will definitely be able to get SSDI without an atty. I did it...you just have to be organized with the paperwork, be timely in sending them anything they request and go to their doctor. No offense, but the ads on television to "help you with getting Social Security" are for people who can't or don't know how to handle their own lives. I applied one time, submitted all the paperwork they requested, went to their doctor and within a couple of months, I was granted the disability payments - retroactive to the date I filed the claim. It's not rocket science and you can do it - don't put out money to someone else to "fill in the blanks". Good luck - with SSDI I also receive MediCare and Medical, so all my medical bills are covered 100%. It's worth getting to the SS office and starting the claim. Good luck and don't panic if you get a rejection - you can appeal it, as some of my friends did, and you WILL get it. The amount you get is based on the income you've had during your lifetime. You go for it! And, feel well - that's the most important.

I have a couple of friends that tried to get SSDI on their own and it didn't happen.....they say to try on your own the first time and if you get turned down then get an attorney.
