Is there excercises you can to to help prevent the pain caused from avascular necrosis.?

I was diagnosed with avascular necrosis of the hip. I think it is a type of degenerative bone disease. I'm in my early 40, s and don't want to do the recommended hip replacement at my age. does anyone know anyone with is condition and what are recommendations?

AVN of the hip is a situation where the head of the femur loses its blood supply. It can happen for a number of reasons, sometimes the cause is unknown. The reason your doctor is not screaming for you to have surgery is that it is not an emergency. The ball on the femur will eventually regain its blood supply, but the problem is that it can also remodel. If you give you hip total rest the prognosis is good, if you don't the ball will begin to look like a mushroom and then the hip will not function properly. If the ball on the femur does look like a mushroom by the time the blood supply is back that is permanent and you stand a very good chance of getting osteoarthritis in you hip, at this point surgery is needed. So don't freak out just take it easy and listen to your doctor.

If you have vascular necrosis you need to have your hip replaced asap. "Vascular", means veins and "necrosis" is dead or dying so your veins are dying. You want to lose your leg?? I'm surprised your orthopedic doctor hasn't insisted your have the hip replacement.

There are minimally invasive hip surgeries today. The replacements last for 35-40 years now. You may be walking out of the hospital in 3-4 days if you do it now. Please reconsider your choice before you lose your leg or your life.

P.S. I have a total hip replacement and I had vascular necrosis. It's very painful and very deadly.

Joint replacement Surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges knee/hip surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as all types of surgery is not covered by insurance.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your knee/hip surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.hope this helps.

i took interest in your question because your history sounded similar to my cousins who had to undergo the hip replacement due to avascular necrosis. He got his surgery in India at just 25% the rate he was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company. His gait of walking is totally normal now and he does brisk walking and mild running also just 4 to 5 months after the surgey
