Autoimmune disease and chronic sinus infections? |
Does anybody have any information (or can direct me to a website that does) about the relationship between autoimmune diseases and sinus infections? I don't have an official diagnosis for a certain autoimmune disease since the docs are still trying to figure out which one, though I have a lot of lupus symptoms just no positive lupus test, only positive ANA. CD is an autoimmunce disorder (many folks with lupus also have CD). That usually causes stomach problems but can cause a whole list of problems. Sinus and other infections being one of them. There are so many different autoimmune diseases, and a positive ANA can be an indicator for many. If you were being tested for Lupus, I'll assume that you must have many of the symptoms for this? I have a "Lupus-Like" disease called Antiphospholipid Syndrome Not all Lupus Patients have this and not all APS patients have Lupus so they are separate diseases. Many doctors do not test for this, but it may be worth looking into for you. In autoimmune disease the body is not recognizing its own cells and attacking them and destroying them. There is treatment for most, but no cure as of yet. |
