Asthma-autoimmune disease?

Is asthma autoimmune disease or not?

Allergies are autoimmune, but I believe that though they are a big trigger for Asthma, that is not always the case.. Maybe this site can be of help. I do know that Asthma can mimic a heart problem, as happened with my mother and is now happening with a friend of mine, whom they have now said, after years of asthma treatment, " You don't have asthma, You have heart problems."
