Does Ulcerative Colitus or Crohn's diseases affect a woman's ability bear children?

Because Ulcerative Colitus and Crohn's disease are autoimmune disease are they likely to cause miscarriages?

These conditions have little effect on bearing children, but it might be a little harder getting pregnant, as docs recommend waiting until you are in remission. Both of these conditions primarily affect the digestive system, with only a few effects on other parts of the body.

I have Crohns and I miscarried about a year ago. They couldn't say for sure if it was because of my Crohns but said their is a strong possibility. Being a registered nurse I knew it would be a hard pregnancy and people with UC and CD are generally high risk, you just have to make sure you take all precautions and make sure you talk to your (or a knowledgable) gastroenterologist.
