Why is it in America We Spend so much Money On "Health Care"?

And yet our cancer and heart disease rates are rising?
Along with every other chronic/autoimmune disease..

I mean all these charity organizations for numerous
diseases and where has it gotten us? We are
not only not improving but we are actually becomming
more and more disease ridden! America is 29th in
the WORLD for healthy life expectancy!
Thats pretty bad considering we spend the most
on it. hmmm...

thoughts anyone?

these are two different questions. our life expectancy is not tops because of all the bad food we eat as a nation. ever see super size me the movie? major cause for heart disease is obesity.

as for the costs, yes, i agree with the other poster. we spend a lot bc of all the litigation. we are the most litigious country in the world. and therefore drs here pass on their cost of malpractice insurance onto us.

The money for charity doesnt go to charity..

I don't know why, but Louisiana is number one in bad heart health and Oklahoma is number two. Why? Look at their DIETS!!!

First off, rising healthcare costs have nothing to do with your comments. The rising healthcare is due to a few bad seeds who sue for riddiculous amounts of money in the name of malpractice. As a result, insurance coverage that doctors must carry becomes insanely high. The only way they can cover it is to charge more. Medications are high due to two factors, research costs and pocket lining.

Cancers are rising due to all of the toxins we have polluted the world with. Heart disease is rising due to the population becoming more and more obese

Our policies favor big corporations. Easier for them to charge more bucks for medicine than in other countries. Some countries have system where gov pretty much buy medications from pharmaceutical firm and force them to follow strict guidlines and rules and distribute to its citizens.

We have free market friendly system favoring large corporations, but not neccessarly for patients.
