What can be done for relaxing muscles?

my legs have become so stiff and sore, I can hardly walk. My Dr advised me to get a wheely walker so I would not fall over. I have an autoimmune disease that is causing the problem. The pain gets so bad I cant sleep, and its tiring me out. I am on warfarin and not allowed to take any relaxant tablets. I am not allowed herbal medicine. I am waiting to see a specialist. Can anyone please suggest something to help me.

ask your doctor about taking magnesuim. I dont see why you couldnt take that since its in our food. i took it before for major leg pain and spasms. worked great, i was surprised.

Take a nice hot bath. Or go in a hot tub.

Soaking in warm water with Epsom's salts helps me?? I have Fibromyalgia....My muscles hurt everyday..also yoga has helped me tremendously....Practice deep breathing and laying flat on your back and breathing deeply relaxing each muscle group.Close your eyes and just meditate...............Trust me all this helps without drugs!

flexeril (cyclobenzparine)ask your doc for it

Ask your Dr. for a tens unit ...I have one for arthritis..it relaxes your muscles..Also it is not a pill..most insurances cover them

Muscles can have knots (trigger points) that make them tight which in turn put pressure on nerves and other things.
Molasses - a couple of swigs or Bananas 1 or 2 - both contain magnesium and potassium for muscles.
Try working with the principles taught in The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies.
I use a chiropractor and massage therapist with it
