Switching doctors? |
i have just been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and i want to be referred from my GP to a endocrinology specialist, how do i do this? Simply ask your doctor. Just ask for a referral to a specialist. Do some research in your area to find out the best specialist and then ask your GP for a referral. Of course, you may be limited due to insurance company willing to pay for which specialists. Ask you GP! You shouldn't need to switch Dr's, maybe see a different one in your practice, first, if you are not getting the understanding you expect. Ask your GP for a referral, they should give you one. doctors wont take a referral unless it's from a gp so u nee to speak to them the doctor would need to do it for you |
