MMR vaccine and Autism?

So, I've been working with the other user "randy" to find some common causes of Autism. He's received comments that Autism is NOT genetic, but most web sites say otherwise.

Another reason that I have found is the MMR vaccine. It is injected into kids at age 1 and has been proven to cause autism. My question is that it could be genetics working with the MMR vaccine that causes autism, because it could be a genetic defect that causes the body to be susceptible to the viruses that are in the MMR vaccine. This could just be a theory, but I was wondering if it could be true.

It's almost a certainty that the REGRESSIVE form of autism has an environmental source. While I can't prove it, I feel pretty confindent that my own son's autism was caused by the vaccination regiment (MMR) that he received at age 2.

Up until that point, he was paying attention well, had become potty trained, and was developing his speech skills normally. After his 2 year checkup, all that went away. His words were replaced by ranting screeches, his bathroom skills disappeared, and he lost all interest in eye contact with anyone. ( he pretty much lost interest in just about everything, for that matter) He began to run into walls on purpose, and hit himself in the head with balled up fists. He began to roll his eyes into the back of his head, as well as rotate his head on his neck for no reason. And when I say things went bad, I mean QUICKLY. (within a matter of weeks)

With the classic form of autism, ghildren never develop those kinds of skills to begin with. There may in fact BE a genetic cause for that kind of autism. But the regressive form is an altogether different animal.

The idea that the main cause of this form of Autism is genetic is rediculous, because there's no such thing as a genetic epitemic. And autism CERTAINLY is a growing epidemic right now.

well a leading researcher say that the highest rates are in silicon valley and the northeast. What they have been looking into is the pollution. both areas have a history of pollution especially of drugs that can warp dna.

As much as I can figure out, not every child is born with a complete immune system. Some are born with Primary Immune Deficiency, some with CVID, others with Hyper M and so on. My theory for what it is worth, if you do not have a normal immune system at Birth, including being breast fed, then you really cannot mount a immune reaction to the inoculations. I have never been vaccinated, inoculated, as in 1958 all the vaccines were 'live' albeit small amounts. Moreover I erupted in Psoriasis at 16 and Arthritis at 21. Now I have a high level of IgM so my immune system needs much to be desired. Good Luck

I think you are on the right track from what I can find but most researchers think their are numerous "triggers" if you will.
The problem I have is that the genetic component will not treat or prevent or do anybody any damn good so who cares. Money that could be spent actually accomplishing something instead of covering big pharmas ***.

As expected by science, extensive searching for a genetic cause of autism has not turned up a significant find that would explain the recent increased rate in autism. The latest genetic find, at best, might explain 0.5% of autism causation. Most agree that a genetic predisposition is likely (like those that lead to low glutathione levels), but that a toxic exposure is absolutely needed. Consider also, that this increased toxic exposure would have had to occur in all 50 states at about the same time as all states have reported similar increases in autism rates. Only something like the government recommended vaccine program fits this need for a time dependent, uniform exposure of a toxin throughout all the states.
