Signs of autism?

Does anyone know something about Autism?
such as signs and test?
I'm doing my assignment, and want to know more about the Autism``
so, thank you very much!!

My brother is autistic and is 40 years old. Our family has lived with autism along time.

When he was younger, he would scream (high pitched) when something would upset him. He used to hit himself too when he thought we were mad at him and would pull his hair.

He didn't start talking until after he was 3

He is very possessive of his stuff and doesn't like people touching it.

He is very routine oriented. Once he has a routine down, he doesn't like it changed. I'm not talking just like schedule routine. I'm talking about everything, even down to hanging up his shirt. If he doesn't think the hangar is going into the shirt the right way, he feels the need to do it over.

He is very organized. He has the exact same amount of space between each hanger in his closet. I couldn't maintain that kind of organization in a MILLION years.

He doesn't like to make eye contact. He never has.

If you have any other questions, I would be happy to answer them. Take care and I hope your assignment goes well.

you are in your own world sometimes and you dont talk that much anymore

Well I do know some signs of autism
1. They act like they're in their own world.
2. They don't talk or communicate a lot.
3. They're very shy sometimes.

Umm I'm not an expert but my mom took a study on this stuff..
This is for asbergers Autism
-sensitive hearing
-slowed speech
-moody outbursts
-IQ can be high but not able to express
-not socially adapt
This is just things I have heard but look up mayoclinic and you can learn more.

Here are some very basic signs that may point to autism (especially in very young toddlers)

- poor eye contact/ lack of ability to maintain eye contact
- excessive interest in things such as ceiling fans and lights
- repetitive motions of the hands and/or arms (such as flapping hands when upset)
- low tollerance for stimulating circumstances (loud noise, busy places, etc...)
- grinding of the teeth
- repetative movements such as head banging or arm rubbing
- a tendancy to engage in "rocking" movements (rocking back and forth when sitting or standing
- delayed speech development

Hope this helps!
