Where can I take my son to get looked at that is close to Wichita, KS? |
My step son is 7. He does not talk. He can hear. We only have him every other weekend. His mother does not seem to be conserned about this. I worry about him and what kind of future he will have. There is a reason why he doesn't talk and I need to know why? Could it be Autism? You are absolutely correct to be concerned. Can't say if its autistic disorder or not from this limited information. Here are a couple of places to call to get a referral to someone there who has experience working with kids: There could be many reasons why he doesn't talk. While he may be able to hear noises, he may not be able to hear voices clearly. Sometimes a traumatic event will cause a child not to speak. It could also be some form of autism. Doesn't his mother know the reason why? Doesn't his father know? At 7 years old, your the only one who has taken an interest in this child's inability to speak. God bless you. I don't live near KS, but there should be a hospital that specializes in children's medicine. Most big cities have a children's hospital. There might be one in Wichita. Try calling 411 and ask them. Good luck to you and the child. |
