Regression into Autsim?

Is it possible to have Autism, but regress further as you enter adulthood?

Reason for asking is that I have always been rather self-sufficient. Only more recently have I been displaying more and more of my Autistic tendencies. I'm turing more and more "autistic".

Is this possible? How can I provide for myself if I can't even focus enough to get through my college studies?

Jacko-

Autistic people (not aspergers) are not un-intelligent. It is just a different way of communicating.

But yeah, I'm, in evalutation process as we speak.

From the high standard of your written expression, I suggest that you get assessed for Asperger's, which is a high functioning form of autism. Are you sure it's not social anxiety, playing a role, here? See pages 12, 21, and 9, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris

No. Haven't heard of this. Could be just anxiety problems. Go to the counseling center at your university and have it checked out.

I've never heard of it happening. It could due to the fact that you have excess stress at the moment. There are a lot of types of autistic 'behaviour'. It may not even be related to the autism. I think you more the think about it, the more of a problem it will become for you. Have you got a therapist that you see on a regular basis? Maybe they could help you? No easy answer for this one

autistic disorder can go through adulthood if one had the illness since childhood, but the picture in adulthood is usually less severe due to the coping mechanisms used and the maturity of the brain.
if you are suffering more, then you should consult your psychiatrist.
