Is this awkward and why?

Hello, i'm 18 and from canada. I am diagnosed with learning disabilitie and have characteristics of A.D.D and Autism. People think i'm weird because I lough at random, akward and serious moments. Everytime i see a friend feeling down and upset i start to lough at him and he loughs back but only because he thinks i'm crazey. I loughed at a church one time and i lough at horror/old western movies instead of comedy. But i dont lough at disrespectful people and things that are immature (It pisses me off). It feels like I lough at people because they are being stupid and take things to seriously in life, it feels like i'm the only person that understands why. Does inyone know why? Are there different sences of humor that can cause people to lough at just about inything?

P.S. I'm loughing right now.....

Perhaps you are automatically laughing to fill in the gaps where you do not know how to respond in a more appropriate way. (As a default.) Though it is beyond your control, people would tend to think such a response meant that you did not have respect for the things they were saying or the things going on around you. That would be a tough disorder to have!

i know it must be hard for you, but that is not a likable characteristic. To tell you the truth its is awkward. Think of something that you don't find funny when you have the urge to laugh.
p.s. its laugh not "lough"

yeah it can be awkward i laugh when i shouldnt too and sometimes people get mad at me i just think we find different things funny like stupid stuff and everything people think i'm obnixous since i laugh but really i cant help it ha, but people think im weird to but they'll get over it =]

Yes,I know what you mean.I have heard of people who laugh at funerals, even though they are broken-hearted.There is also what is referred to as "Nervous laughter"
As for me,someone getting hurt falling down or something makes me totally crack up.Even though I am really concerned and will immediately try to help them,I could never call 911- I would be laughing too hard to talk to the operator

well u may accidentally offend people though... and not even know it

try laughing n your head when u arent sure if its the right time .............i laugh alot laughter is "the best free medicine" but u know some peopole do not have sense of humors like u and they may take it like "your laughing AAT them" and they get all bent out of shape and whatever

Hello there.

Well, I too laugh at horror movies. I sure hope there are different senses of humor. Find like minded individuals.

I also agree that many people take way too much way too seriously (myself included). Sometimes I am the one laughing, other times I'm the one all down and upset. I guess it just depends on thoughts. Life is so f*ed up sometimes you've just gotta laugh. Or else cry.

Laughter is good and healthy. If you find you are offending others that you care about, you may need to learn to hold it in. I understand that many autistics do not process information the same way as non-autistics and they do not instinctively "understand" body language etc but have to memorize certain cues. Perhaps this would help you.

For example, if ever the topic is "death" probably best not to laugh (lol) I once laughed at a funeral. The eulogy was a fond anecdote about the deceased and my laughter was not meant to be rude. I was just pleasantly remembering something from their life.

Hopefully society will become less uptight. It amazes me that we are still this way considering the widespread sex & violence we have all come to experience daily.
