the state of new jersey is tryin to madate the flu vaccines in kids.. i have heard of cases where if given at such early age kids have developed autism and one very close case to the family the 6 yr old healthy boy developed massive seizures. he is currently hospitalized. i have 2 boys of school age and i am concerned about this potential mandation. If i had it to do over i would have never had them get these shots,with the exception of one. The polio vaccine.
The flu shot is stupid ! If you feed your child healthy foods and keep their immune system strong through Pro-biotics. 80% of your bodies immune system is in your stomach. Healthy stomach, healthy body ! Thats Crazy those doctors are so stupid those parents should sue and anyways the doctors should have already have known that it would have happened. I worked in the medical field, and I personally will not get a flu shot. There are definate benifits, however, the vaccine will only protect you against a few strains of the flu, and usually those are the ones from the previous year.
I think they are a good idea for people that are vulnerable - medically fragile individuals, the elderly, those with a compromised immune system. For healthy individuals, however, the immune system is sufficiently strong to fight off most strains of the flu, provided the individual looks after themself and gets lots of rest, fluids, etc.
Mandating this vaccine for children is asking for trouble. Parents know when their child is vulnerable. Perhaps mandating immunizations for vulnerable children is a better plan, as they are at risk of having more serious complications should they develop flu symptoms.
A more effective solution would be for parents to keep their kids at home if the children are sick! Stop the spread of the virus. As adults, we should know better than to go to work if we are sick. It may seem like you are dedicated, but by spreading the germs, you are actually decreasing productivity in your workplace.
As for the "evidence" that immunizations lead to autism, I have always been highly skeptical of that. Autism typically starts to show signs very early on - in the toddler years or earlier. Many children have not had immunizations yet, or have had very few. The stories of a child being "perfectly normal" then all of a sudden having a huge reaction to a vaccine and "becoming autistic" at age 5 or 6 seem a little suspect... not saying it can't happen, since we still really have no idea what causes autism, but that answer seems a little too simplistic.
There is always a chance of a child (or adult, for that matter) having a hypersensitivity to something, and it showing up all of a sudden when they have something new introduced into their environment. Even if they WERE to prove that vaccines can cause autism, the chances of it happening are so slim, it's still worthwhile. Imagine the mortality rate if we didn't have the vaccines!
While on the subject of hypersensitivity and extreme allergies, please PLEASE spread the word that antibacterial soaps for common use are NOT a good idea. Same with cleaning supplies like Lysol wipes, etc. The body needs to develop its ability to fight off bacteria and viruses. It cannot do that if it's always in a sterile environment. Wash hands frequently with regular soap - save the antibacterial soap and supplies for only when really necessary.
It is ok to use those antibacterial wipes to clean the mess from cutting raw chicken on the counter, but dont wipe down your whole house with them, or even use them to clean the counter regularly. Parents get so worked up over their child being exposed to bacteria and "harmful germs", but in actuality, they are doing their children more harm than good by using them.
@ Btru2u: The HPV vaccine is a very good idea, actually. I am never for mandating anything, I dont think that things should be forced on people. I am a strong advocate for personal choice. However, the "anti-cancer" vaccine (protects against Human Papilloma Virus) is one that parents should be having their daughters get. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, right? It's a lot easier to get that shot, than it is to go through chemo and radiation.

The condition that man has is caused by a mutated strain of HPV. I'm not saying that the vaccine would protect against that happening, but HPV obviously has potential to cause a LOT of problems. I feel that flu vaccines are detrimental! Here in Texas Gov.Rick Perry passed a law that all teenage girls must get a vaccine that prevents cancer! The supreme court reversed his decision! And last year when Pres.Bush tripled the production of the "Bird Flu" vaccine and there was SO much emphasis on getting one....HOW DO YOU PRODUCE A VACCINE FOR A FLU THAT THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS! From all I have heard I wouldnt touch a flu vaccine, nor would I hve my babies today recieving the shots required for schools. I have seen and heard too much from valueable sources. I read in a Time magazine a year ago that the flu vaccine has more mercury in it than it should and there was this family that their son developed Autism after this vaccine. But what they were saying was that ironically the vaccine that is used for children at age of 2 year old is potentially hazardous and it is 1- because of the level of the mercury and 2- because of the 2 years old being younger and more vulnerable.
I for one believe in that because my son was healthy and developing normal until we gave him the flu shot and all my other children didn't have flu shot at the age of 2 only my youngest one. I do think that the Thirmosal in the vaccines can cause Autism but I am not sure if it will effect a older child whose brain has been developed. Still you need to take precaution and don't let those people, who don't even believe that these vaccines cause Autism and even if they do they try very hard to cover it up, tell you what to do. Vaccine for flu should not be mandatory. It should be up to the person unless you are working in a nursing home or such which I'm sure the children are not. Your child is more likely to die from flu than get autism from getting flu shots. Moreover, any severe trauma in early childhood can lead to autism, so your children could also get autism from flu. In other words your children could get autism by NOT getting their flu shots. Check the statistics from the CDC or something. The flu vaccine still has mercury in it. Minnesota recently passed a law banning mercury in cosmetics. The reasons behind it are small quantities of mercury are neurotoxic. If they can ban mercury from cosmetics, why can't they remove it from ALL vaccines.
The flu vaccine is only good against a FEW strains of flu virus. It DOES NOT prevent all flu infections. This is why people still get the flu even if they had the shot.
Death from the flu happens if your immune system is compromised and/or other infections are occurring at the same time. This is the same for chicken pox. You don't die from chicken pox== the open sores become infected and cause massive systemic infection in the body and can lead to death.
You can always get a religious exemption even if your child has had vaccinations before. Personally, I would move out of New Jersey because it is home to a horrific toxic waste site requiring federal cleanup. It also has a cluster of autism cases near the dump site.
I would also be wary of people who say if you don't get vaccinated you will die. There are plenty of unvaccinated old people around as proof. Todays vaccination schedule requires 36 shots compared to 10 shots years ago. Did you see a massive epidemic sweeping across the world killing off unvaccinated people? The answer is NO. Are today's adults fully vaccinated? The answer is NO. The same people accusing parents of not vaccinating their kids are not fully vaccinated themselves. Don't do it! My only child to have autism is the same one that was exposed to a flu shot when I was pregnant, exposed to toxins since I had a flu shot while I was breastfeeding her and she had a flu shot at 20 months. By 24 months (after more vaccinations), she slipped into autistic regression...lost languge & balance & eye contact, became addicted to dairy with an opiate effect: no ticklishness/feelings of pain, etc. After 5 days without dairy products, she started saying more words, felt pain and ticklishness, stopped tripping everywhere, and within the last 2 years has come a long way due to alternate medicine (DAN! program).
Vaccinations have triggered massive food allergies (by the live viruses damaging the stomach lining/immune system) and saddening is the dangerous food allergies that cause death. We have to stop the craze to fix everything with shots and medicine so we can get to the core of our health problems: immune system failures due to too many assaults on the system. Our bodies aren't meant to take in all these vaccines filled with aborted fetal cells, animal DNA, preservatives, ALUMINUM (think Alzheimer's), etc. Now our "health"care system is giving young girls (and boys!) Gardisil for only 3,000 deaths due to a cervical cancer in a country the size of ours! There have been many deaths to young girls due to Gardisil vaccinations and many, many have been disabled. There are so many strains of flu at one time circulating that vaccinating against 3 isn't going to help but do damage to the immune system. It is Russian roulette! |
