Diagnosing Aspergers syndrome- Mental health? |
Im 16 years old, and I definetly feel I have a mental health problem. I say weird things I dont even want people to know about me for attention. I want attention all the time, and become very jelous if i dont get it. If i dont get something I want i overreact, and flip out and cry, and other kids and teachers make fun of me for it, but i dont feel like i can help it. I feel like i cant control my anger, and want to hurt my self when others make fun of me, I dont talk alot, Im a loner, love school, music and science, and thats pretty much all i do, and talk about, dont know how to interact, nor care to hang out with other kids usually, but I am tired of being labeled, and want to be more normal. Plus I feel i am getting violent with my few friends. I think i may have aspergers syndrome, or high functioning autism. How does one get diagnosed, and how do you deal with this. Hi my brother was diagnosed by a neurologist and had may autism characteristics preoccupation with numeric information and not much interest in social interaction. A behavior doctor can give you help with anger issues and diagnose a problem that causes anger to increase. He had a hard time in high school and college but he really started to have a good life in his early twenties so don't give up hope and remember there are others who have these same problems. I hope that you can talk to a doctor soon. you don't have aspergers, sounds like depression... This does not sound like Asperger's to me. Something in the Cluster B spectrum of personality disorders is certainly worth considering, however. Sounds more like borderline personality disorder than like Asperger's, to be honest. I think your best bet would be to see a psychologist. Whatever condition you have, a psychologist should be able to help you learn some coping skills, such as how to control your anger etc, aside from diagnosing you. I have full blown aspergers and you don't sound anything like me. I don't think you have aspergers based on your comments, but you should see a psychologist trained in diagnosing such things. |
