I self harm myself. Who is the best person to tell? |
I think my family is a bad idea, all that would do is worry them and wouldn't get me the help I need (I have autism and they don't really understand me). I have a new social worker but she's new and I don't feel comfortable talking to her. I have a supported job coach I have a good relationship with but it's not really her job is it? I used to live in a care home for autistic people but now I'm out and trying with great difficulty to lead a "normal" life. First, they will not lock you up in a little room. Second, you need to tell your social worker. I know she is new but this is what her job is and what she is trained for. You don't need to let her know that you are hurting yourself, just let her know you want to see a therapist because you feel the need to talk to someone. This will also show that you are taking responsibility for your life and can start to make decisions on your own. Once she gets you in touch with a therapist, you can talk to them about why you are doing this. I think you might want to reword it when you tell someone. When you tell someone you are going to do something, they immediatly call the nearest emergency center to put you away in a small isolated room, with a bunch of schizeophrenic people. You should go to a therapist. Mine is the man, and I get really upset if I can't see him every week. Good luck. There are several help lines possibly available in your area. You can find them in the yellow pages or google. You don't need to expect your family to get you help, you need to get help yourself on your own terms. BE POSITIVE WITH YOUR SELF PLEASE.I WOULD TELL YOU DON'T STAY LIKE YOU ARE.YOU NEED HELP JUST LIKE ME I AM DEPRESS PERSON TO.GO AND SEE A DOCTOR IF YOU ARE TO SEE IF YOUR DOING A DEPRESSION.TAKE CARE GOD LOVE YOU I DO. talk 2 the school scounseler That's not good that you're hurting yourself. Telling your new social worker is a good place to start. I would call her right away and let her know that you act on impulses to harm yourself. |
