My son has been through so much... Has anyone ever heard of a 4 yearold having a pos ANA with a titer if 1:80? My son has alot of problems, but we have to wait untill march to see a ruematolgists. I need to know if this could mean, that should be looking for more signs...or what should I be watching for!!!!! He has Raynaud's, Autism (non verbal), Swollowing difficlulties, An unknown syndrome... Mabye we could now find out the syndrome... Dose anyone out there know of a child who has a syndrome associated with Lupus? I neeed some guidance that I am not getting from anyone else!!!!

lupus is not the only disorder that causes a high ANA
He could have anyone of a number of autoimmune disorders.

Children can get lupus.

Raynaud's can happen on its own or in overlap with other autoimmune disorders like lupus.

The swallowing issue could be a number of things.

Lupus imitates many other diseases. Part of the diagnositic process is eliminating other things. That is probably what the doctors are doing now.

A lot of us with one autoimmune disease have more than one, which makes diagnosis very difficult.

You must be going insane with worry, and I certainly don't blame you. As much as you can, focus on being emotionally present for your son. He will pick up on your worrying. Kids are like that. And stress is one of the very worst things for autoimmune diseases. Love him. Hug him. Read him stories. Together you will get through this. Best wishes to you.
